We have a fantastic opportunity for HGV Technician at our Portsmouth location, to join the Sparks Team as you will be a key member of our operation. The role is to carry out all aspects of service, repair and maintenance work on all commercial vehicles that are booked into the workshop. You will liaise with the Workshop Controller and Service Team to ensure the best customer service for our clients. We are looking for a candidate with enthusiasm and a dynamic personality who will share our energy and passion and contribute to our ongoing success. The Technician will be responsible for carrying out vehicle repairs in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures within standard times set.

Salary inclusive of shift allowance from £50,170.00 depending on experience and skill set. Based on a five-day shift, Monday to Friday 10.00pm to 6.30am inclusive of ½ hour unpaid lunchbreak. Overtime is always available but not guaranteed.

Holiday including bank holidays is 28 days per year.

Duties will include:

· Vehicle inspection

· General servicing

· Fault diagnosis

· Repair of vehicle defects

· Road test vehicles

· MOT preparation/presentation

· Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out duty

· Completion of all required paperwork accurately

The successful candidate will:

· Be a qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three of equivalent).

· Institute of Vehicle Recovery qualified

· Have previous relevant experience gained in a similar industry.

· Have a full driving licence, ideally include HGV Licence

We have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced HGV Technician to join our team at our Poole Depot. This will enable us to support our customers, providing better coverage and flexibility and enhancing the service we offer.

Shift: Based on a four nights 12-hour shifts pattern which is Monday to Thursday, 7.00pm to 7.00am with half an hour unpaid lunch.

The role is to carry out all aspects of service, repair and maintenance work on all commercial vehicles that are booked into the workshop. You will liaise with the Foreman, Workshop Control and Service Manager to ensure the best customer service for our clients.

This shift has proved very successful in our other Depots. Having a long weekend every weekend means staff have a great work life balance.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Yardsman Driver / Workshop Cleaner based at our Southampton location to join the Sparks Team. 

This position is directly accountable to the Workshop Controller for daily routine.  Duties to include general hygiene and cleanliness of the workshop to include staff room facilities, yard and car park areas, good husbandry of all workshop tools, oil store, air lines etc, emptying the bins and removing larger scrap items placed in bin areas when required, moving & parking vehicles in the yard to assist the technicians, delivery and collection of customer vehicles/presenting for annual MOT, general husbandry of company vehicles, assist parts department with delivery and collecting of parts.  Show a great deal of self-motivation in the way in which duties are conducted.  Must hold a full driving licence, preferable have HGV licence but not essential.

As part of the Sparks Team, you will be a key member at the heart of our operation. This is a very hands on, exciting, busy and challenging role. Working within the team you will assist the daily operation of the workshop and its various components ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Monitor and control use of all workshop resources (staff, space and equipment) to ensure maximum impact on quality of work, efficiency and profitability. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operation of the workshop. To be an active member of the service department team comprising workshop reception, foreman and stores to encourage high staff morale, timely customer care, workshop efficiency and productivity. Monitor, resolve and report any action as appropriate to any health and safety issues in accordance with company policy.
